SFTP server error occurred: No such file

Date:

I run backup against various network computers. On some, the log shows a warning to the effect "Warning: DownloadFileByBlocks.SFTPClient.OpenFile error "SFTP server error occurred: No such file". What does this mean? No names are provided so I can't track down the cause.

Thanks,
Greg Blum

Hello,

It's not an error.
Probably, at the time of copying, the source file is no longer on the disk. As a rule, this happens with temporary files.

We will try to fix this defect in the next version.

Thanks for getting back to me, but it didn’t work.  To confirm I:
Cleared my browser cache
Re-downloaded Exiland Backup 6.2 and re0installed it.
I re-ran one of the problem backups and still do not get the file name that Exiland is looking for.  See below:

Hi,

Are you sure you have replaced the two program files "ExilandBackup.exe" and "ExilandBackup.jdbg" on your PC?

Please provide us with the "Exiland Backup Standard\WorkingFolder\trace.log" file.

Yes, I replaced the two files.  I tried to attached a pdf list of what is currently in my C:\Exiland Backup Standard, this web page errors out.  The 'exe' & 'jdbg' files do match yesterday's date.

The file you requested was also attempted to be attached, but the web site wouldn't work.  I did notice this file does provide the file names. I excluded the files and re-ran the backup job.  No errors.  It would be nice, however, to have the file names upfront in the execution log instead of having to go back and dig through this master log.

Gregory,

Try to clear cache in your browser, log off / log in to Your Account again and attach the "Exiland Backup Standard\WorkingFolder\trace.log" file.

You don't need to see these skipped files. If they were on the disk during the scan and were deleted before copying started, then these are probably some temporary files.

Here's another attempt to send the files.  Also, I disagree with your statement about not needing to see files.  I have a script that scans the execution files for errors and prompts me when an error occurs.  I can then access the situation and, if it's not a critical file, exclude it from the backup job.  So, if no name is shown, I have no way to clear the error.  Plus, in all the cases that occurred, the issues weren't temporary files, they were actual files still on the device that were either hidden or had restrictive access.

Hello,

The file either exists or it doesn't exist on disk (or not available).

Hidden files are accessible for backing up.
Restricted files are not accessible for backing up.

If the file was on disk but was deleted, it is the same as the file was not on disk. Even if it was a real file, it doesn't need to be backed up. Such files should just be skipped silently.

P.S. I don't understand why you sent a list of files "File List.pdf".
